Taking Eve

Taking Eve predictions and questions

Taking Eve is a phenominal book so far. It has kept me entertained until i could get to the action, and then it put me on the edge of my seat. You can see the antaginists plan forming just before the charicters do and then it throws a curve ball at you and does something compleatly unexpected. As for predictions it think that Joe will get the info on Eve after he arives on summer island to check on Jane( who has just been shot). I also thing that the antagonist, Doane, will force Eve to make a reconstruction of his dead child, Kyle. Lastly I think that Doane will invertantly lead Eve to solve the mystery of what happend to her daughter Bonnie. One question has been bugging me sence Jane was shot, who is the shooter? Why is he helping Doane? What is in it for him?

Saving Zasha book reveiw

Saving Zasha Book Review

Saving Zasha was over all a very well put together book. It follows the story of a young boy named Ivan who is living in leningrad in the middle of WWII. He is soon forced to leave his home and flee to the small town of Vilnov. The town soon comes under German ocupation, during which a series of events unfold and Ivan meets Axel Recht's 2 German sheperd puppys, named Zasha and Thor. Ivan and his newfound freind in Vilnov are forced to make an ecape from the town, but Ivan has grown atatced to the dogs and will stop at nothing to recue them from Axels cluches. This book would appel to anyone who is into realistic fiction, seeing as it takes place in WWII. The book was incredible, I would read it agein so it getts a 10/10.

Fahrenheit 451 Text-To-Text Connections

Farenheit 451 Text-To-Text Connections to Harrison Bergeron and 2081
Farenheit 451, Harrison Bergeron, and 2081 are all very similer to one another. They all take place in a distopian scocity that tries to control the popullation. In Farenheit 451 the government controles the poputlation through the burnig of books. In Harrison Bergeron and 2081 the government controls the people throught the use of handycaps, wich impare people to diffrent extents so noone is better than anyone else. In both examples the government controls the people through minipulation of knowlage, alowing them to fill their agenda. The people in both scocitys dont want change because its all they have ever known. They relate in this fact, but differ in how they do it. Also 2081 has physical limitations along with the mental limitations.

Final Blog Post

Final Blog Post

Click here to go to my best blog post. My blog post on theme of The Assassin and the Desert was my best post on blogger. It showed that i was able to identify the theme of a book and give examples of where the theme is present.  An example of me supporting the theme is "This is pretty much summed up in this quote,"If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it- to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget. Others turn it into anger. But Ansel let her pain become hate, and let it consume her until she became something else entirely- a person I don't think she ever wished to be"(Mass Pg 48).-(Beach). This demonstrates that I can support and prove a theme if I find it present in the text.

Next trimester i want to be able to finish the book i'm on and be able to go into more detail when Im writing on something. I want to be able to comprehend what I am reading more by using close reading skills and active reading skills I learned this trimester. I hope this will allow me to fully understand and enjoy my independent reading novels. As for my writing, I hope that I will be able to incorporate more detail into my writing to help with my comprehension of the novel I am reading.

Finding Zasha first impressions

My first impressions of this book are that it is another world war 2 book with a slight spin off. It takes place in the Russin city of Leiningrad. The Germans are starting to surround the city and are bombing daily, the food supplies were burned to a crisp and Ivan and his mother are scrambaling to getout of the city. Ivan must cross the river as it freezes over because his mother is moving with the factory she is forced to work at ( martal law,not the Germans). A prediction i am makeing is that the Germans will cut off Ivans convoy before it can cross the river and he will be traped in Leiningrad.

Crown of Midnight book recomendation

Crown of Midnight gives a lot of closing to the Throne of Glass at first, and then leaves a huge cliff hanger that could lead to an awsome third book. There is a huge plot twist in the middle of the book, and effects all of the charicters equaly. The ending is full of fast paced action that leads up to a surprising climax. The book leads off with a huge open ending and you wanting to keep turing pages that arnt there.

Crown of Midnight Neimas death opinion
I think that killing off a main charicter who stuck with us through the first book was a bold move on the authors part. A lot of people take sides on what charicters they like in books and when you kill a charicter off, it stops anything else comeing from that charicter and people start to lose interest in said charicter.

Crown of Midnight Summery (so far)

The Crown of Midnight is over all a continuation of Throne of Glass. It shows the events that follow Throne of Glass and conects hevaly to the prequils of the seires. The bigest event so far has been Princess Neima's death.  It drove Celeana agenst her friends and, form a readers standpoint, changed the cource of the book dramaticly.

The Crown of Midnight Tone and Mood

The tone and mood of the Crown of Midnight is heavy. The reason for this is that Celeana is barganing and saving lives from being killed by the king insted of killing them outright like she is told. An example is shown here " She had embarked on the first mission intending to quickly dispatch the target. She'd prepared herself for the kill, told herself that Sir Carlin was nothing but a stranger and his life ment nothing to her. But when she got to his esstate and witnessed the unusual kindness with which he treated his servents, when she saw him playing the lyre with a traveling minstrel he sheltered in his hall, hwen she realised whos agenda she was aiding... she couldn't do it" ( maas 14).

Crown of Midnight predictions and questions

Asim reading Crown of Midnight a few questions keep poping up. I wondering if Dorians powers will be descovered, and what will happen between Celeana and Dorian when she finds out about his powers. Some predictions i can make are that Celeana will find out what the thing in front of the library was and have to fight it, also i belive that the eye of Elean will be the key to a riddle in the tomb.

Crown of Midnight update

Celeana has been obaying and following the kings orders sence the last book left off and is moving on to her next target, Archer Finn. What the king doesn't know how ever, is that Celeana has been bringing in false bodies to make him think that she dispached her target, when she actualy spares their lifes and makes them flee the continint. Archer is an old friend of Celeana and she is getting information from him at the moment, but at the end of the month he will have to fake his death.

Book recomendation The Assassin and the Empire

The assassin and the empire is the final of the four e-book prequals to Throne of Glass. The story revolves around how Celeana got captured and what events lead up to it. It was a very good book, 5/5 and gave a lot of backaround info on Celeana so you know what has happened to her in the past and why she does certin things in Throne of Glass.

Crown of Midnight first impressions

Crown of Midnight is the sequel to Throne of Glass. It takes place a few monthesaffter the ending of Throne of glass and brings you right into the story, bringing you into an assassination that Celeana is on. It lets us know that all the other charicters havent changed a lot in the time in between the two books.

Book Review

The Assassin and the Empire Analysis

The Assassin and the Empire was the last of the 4 prequils to throne of glass. The book tells us what had happened leading up to Celeanas capture. The book takes a suprising twist twords the end.  The book tells us who had set her up in the end, but we can try to guess first based off ofevidence. We can start to sence that it is a set up based off the fact that a character dies. We can also tell by the lack off effort twords saving Celeana.

The Assassin and the Underworld Charicter Overview

In The Assassin and the Underworld, Celaena changes alot as a character. mShe builds a strong relationship with Sam and starts to become independent from Arobynn. She realises that Arobynn sees her as an asset to make money, not as a person. Through out the job she is completing for him, she asked Sam to help her out along the way. The two build a connection, using what happened in Skulls bay as a footing. The connection between the two builds as they keep working together and this eventualy reviels why she has taken some actions erlyer in the book.

The Assassin and the Underworld

The assassin and the Underworld was the best of the 3 e-books so far. It describes the events that unfold after Celaena returns from the Red desert. It builds on Celaenas connection with Sam and how Arobynn coped whith what he did to her in the last book. It revolves aroun a job that Arobynn gives Celaena and how she tries to separate from him by paying off her debt. Also it shows that Arobynn fells reluctent for what he did to her.

The Assassin and the Desert

The Assassin and the Desert
The Assassin and the Desert allows you to have some insight as to how Celena got her training. The theme of this book was that people deal with pain in diffrent ways. This is preatymuch summed up in this quote,"If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it- to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselfs forget. Others turn it into anger. But Ansel let her pain become hate, and let it consume her until she became something else entirely- a person i dont think she ever wished to be"(Mass Pg 48). This quote describes that you can deal with pain in many ways, but you can never let it become something that changes you. Over all this was a very good read, it was as good as Throne of Glass and gives a significant amount of backaround knowlage of Celaena.

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord Review

The e-book The Assassin and the Pirate Lord is a prequel Throne of Glass. It gives you some backaround knowlage about Celaena and her friend Sam. During this book Celaena builds a relationship with Sam, another assassin. They start out as not the best of people to be around, but throught the events of the book they become closer to one another. This is an extreamly good example of how charicters evolve throught a book. The book itself didnt live up to Throne of Glass, but it is still a good read.

Summer Reading Progect

The book Throne of Glass  was an amasing book. The main charicter Celaena had a very dinamic and complex character develipment that took place through out the book. A lot of her backstory is described in the Ebooks which take place before the book. Throughout the book Celaena's character develipment changes rapidly one she arrives at the glass castle. When she first arrives she is determand to win and gain her freedom, and would run ofver anyone who got in her way. Later in the book she changes so she will help friends and other people on the way instead of ignoring them. An example of this is hwen she saves Nox from a deathly fall dering a test, "There was a sharp snap of rope breaking and Nox's cry of fear and rage, and Celaena took off, sprinting across the backs of four gargoyles befoe she lanched herself into the void."( Maas 153). The quote tells how she is going to launch herself off the wall to save Nox insted of leating him fall to his death. The old Celaena would have let Nox fall because it would mean less compition for her. There is still a lot about Celaena that reamains unchanged like her suspition in people no matter how close they are too her. An example is when she susspects Nehemia is the one responcibal for the murders in the castle,"But why would Nehemia plot against her?" (Maas 270). So throughout the book Celaena both changes and remains the same, keeping every thing she needs to be an efftctive assassin and fighter, but also changing through out the book to help other people who will help her when she needs it.
